    Gluten-Free Market Statistics

According to the attached article, the Gluten-Free market is becoming mainstream moving from a niche market to one where gluten-free foods can be found in mainstream supermarkets.  This is a trend that we have seen over the years and will continue to see as the market continues to grow.

Gluten-free foods are no longer only for people with celiac disease, food allergies, food intolerances, autism and other medical conditions.  More and more people who want to follow a healthy lifestyle are eliminating gluten from their diets at least part of the time.

The Gluten-Free market in the US reached approximately $2.6 BILLION dollars in 2010, with a 30% growth rate, and is expected to reach $6 BILLION dollars  in sales by 2015.  So voice your opinion!  Ask your local retailers to sell your favorite gluten-free goodies – including GILBERT’S GOURMET GOODIES!

    Gluten-Free Seminar – Monday, September 12

Gluten-Free Seminar scheduled for Monday, September 12 in Southbury, CT.   Created by a local college student, Melissa Windover, for her Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest honor a girl scout can earn (similar in rank to the Eagle Scout award for Boy Scouts).

Her goal is to reach out to people (especially children) who are new to gluten free and to increase gluten free/allergen awareness.  She is doing this through this seminar, a guidebook she has created for children at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center who are new to gluten free and a website for those that are new to gluten free to inform them of the many options available and so that they can share what they are going through with others.
She is a very driven and impressive young lady!  The seminar flyer is on our fb page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Gilberts-Gourmet-Goodies/256503803991.
I, along with a nutritionist, will be speaking at the event with goodies to share!  Come check it out!
