    Gluten-Free Market Statistics

According to the attached article, the Gluten-Free market is becoming mainstream moving from a niche market to one where gluten-free foods can be found in mainstream supermarkets.  This is a trend that we have seen over the years and will continue to see as the market continues to grow.

Gluten-free foods are no longer only for people with celiac disease, food allergies, food intolerances, autism and other medical conditions.  More and more people who want to follow a healthy lifestyle are eliminating gluten from their diets at least part of the time.

The Gluten-Free market in the US reached approximately $2.6 BILLION dollars in 2010, with a 30% growth rate, and is expected to reach $6 BILLION dollars  in sales by 2015.  So voice your opinion!  Ask your local retailers to sell your favorite gluten-free goodies – including GILBERT’S GOURMET GOODIES!

    Great Events – Gluten-Free, Allergy-Friendly Treats Are A Hit!

It really did not matter to people that the treats were gluten-free and allergy-friendly.  That is except to people like me who have celiac or food allergies or other conditions that prevent us from eating “regular” products.  For us it’s a real find!

For others, they were delighted by the taste of the cookies, tea breads and fruit pies – that’s what they told us as they returned multiple times to buy more.  We too are delighted by everyone’s feedback and comments and thank you for your support!

I am referring to the many customers we met recently at Clearwater Festival, Wooster Street Farmer’s Markets, Danbury Fair Mall Farmer’s Markets and Monroe’s Farmer’s Markets.  We love meeting you and we thank you for your support and your purchases!  Pictures to follow!

    ANTIOXIDANTS

Here’s a pretty good, easy-to-read definition of antioxidants and free radicals.

We hear about eating certain foods that are great antioxidants.  They include leafy green vegetables, bright colored fruits and fruits such as blueberries, raspberries, kumquats, carrots, yellow squash, broccoli, brussel sprouts, swiss chard and more.

Delicious fruits and veggies that are really good for us to eat!
